Super Sunset Series, race 1, the Tan

It was hot and dusty last night for this race which meant the start time was pushed back by 30mins, but that didn’t deter a lot of people from turning up to have a run. We had a swag of people running in the 4km event in search of some fast racing, and they weren’t let down on a “hot lap” around the tan (plus a bit to make 4km). In a nice concept runners were also timed for the Anderson St hill segment, with prizes being awarded for “King/Queen of the Moutain” (KOM/QOM). In the end we had some good results, with more to come in 2 weeks time at race 2 at the Melbourne Zoo.

Duncan Tate – 15:41min, 12th overall; KOM – 1:27.0min, 10th fastest
Megan Mansfield – 15:53min, 2nd female overall; QOM – 1:28.7min, 3rd fastest female
Bree Cole – 16:07min, 3rd female overall; QOM – 1:27.5min, Fastest female
Kate Allen – 17:22min, 4th female overall; QOM – 1:39.7min, 4th fastest female

Note – this was Megan’s first race as a mum, and first race since May 2011!! Also, thanks to Tim for his support on the night.
