This is an increasingly popular series, with organisation this being taken over by Start to Finish which was sure to bring a number of new people…which it did. The course was a 4km lap (closer to 3.8km) which included a lap outside the zoo walls, then heading inside for about 2km of tight twisting and turning along the pathways beside animal enclosures. The the 8km runners, the 2nd lap was bedlam due to congestion, reducing much of the inside route to a dodgem contest and slowing progress significantly. Anyway, this makes the race unique, and it is still a race with keen competition to be had…and we had a good turn-out of runners and supporters.

Campbell Maffett – 27:07min, 3rd overall
