Sri Chinmoy Yarra Boulevard 5 / 10km

Sunday 27th February, 2011

Held on a (almost) flat, fast and accurate course, this low-key race is a great chance to shoot for fast times. It seems that many fast runners had the same idea as the standard at the front of each race was good, despite the drizzly rain that persisted throughout. Otherwise the conditions were perfect for good running.

Tim (5km) and Danni (10km) were there to run for PBs, and goal times we’d set in advance. In the 5km Tim started well and looked great, slowing in the middle section before running a fast and strong last km. Danni ran fantastically the whole way, evenly paced, shoulder-to-shoulder and stride-for-stride with another lady as they fought for the lead – it was an intriguing battle between them until the other lady ran away in the last 200m. Great running by both Tim & Danni – PBs for each of them!!

5km
Tim Bryant – 17:18min (PB), 2nd overall

10km
Danni Bryan – 39:57min (PB), 2nd female overall
