Ironman Western Australia

Busselton, WA, Sunday 5th December.

Nearly 1300 people lined up for the second of Australia’s IM races, on a course that is renowned for fast times…but also for unpredictable weather that can range from hot and dry, to windy, and wet. Today there was a bit of all these conditions which just adds to the difficulty of the distance (swim 3.8km, ride 180km, run 42km). After a long winter of training Georgie Camakaris was over there for her second IM event

Georgie Camakaris – 11:04hr (PB), 7th in F35-39  (A great swim and 120km on the bike…but then found how tough an IM can be. A brave performance.)

Also, a friend of our group, Sam Hume, was lining up for his first triathlon in 12 months after a pretty serious hamstring injury.
Sam Hume – 8:39hr (PB), 8th overall, 1st in M35-39  (Those us of with injuries should be inspired by Sam’s return to competition.)

Tough work, Georgie, and fantastic result, Sam!!
