October Stotan – Kylie Griffiths

This is our second awarding of the Stotan, our monthly acknowledgement of an athlete in our group who has a notable accomplishment during the month. A full definition of The Stotan Code is here http://lovetherun.com.au/2010/09/26/the-stotan-code/. “We are true stotans. We run all day, never complain, and give it all we got in every race.”

Nominations this month are dominated by results from the Melbourne Marathon and associated events, as follows:

Peter Angelini – for consistency in training, capped off with a PB in the 10km event.
James Worth – second nomination, this time for a PB in the half marathon.
Mark Felder – second nomination, also for a PB in the half marathon.
Kylie Griffiths – for determination and diligence in training and running a fantastic debut marathon.
Jim Christensen – for persisting through – and managing – a nagging injury and still running a 10min PB in the marathon.
Danni Bryan – riding the ups and downs of injuries, and finally making a comeback to training.
Joel Elliott – left his run (pardon the pun) until the last minute but made it back to run training for the first time since hip operation August.

And the winner is…Kylie Griffiths. Congratulations!!!
