Today was Melbourne Marathon day with absolutely perfect conditions for all races – you really couldn’t ask for any better weather. With the field primed, and our runners excited, we were all set for a good day. The marathon was off first at 7am, the 10km at 7:30am and the half marathon at 8am. Keeping tabs on everyone was tricky, with races over three different distances and courses, not to mention picking our runners out from the crowds…our “Love the Run” tops looked great and it’s fantastic to see them in the race.
Here’s our results:
Marathon
David Green – 2:36:20 hr PB (A superb run throughout, and really held strong in the last 8km. Great effort.)
Kylie Griffiths – 3:20:12hr PB (A little fast early on but then joined with the 3:20 pace group and run strongly, looking fantastic. A wonderful debut marathon!!)
Jim Christensen – 3:23:xxhr PB (Got to the start line in great shape despite some injury naggles, and ran a very similar race to Kylie, finishing strongly. A PB in your 50’s a great performance!!)
Half Marathon
Rhiannon Snipe – 1:22:54hr (A very solid run through some stomach discomfort. Rhiannon’s consistency over half marathons has been great this year.)
Michael Montgomery – 1:25:54hr (His day was cruelled by ITB over the last 10 days, so just running was an exercise in pain tolerance – very courageous. Has a fast time in him…just need to planets to align.)|
Mark Felder – 1:27:28hr PB (Just a really good run. Looked fantastic, relaxed and with much more great running ahead.)
James Worth – 1:37:09hr PB (His running has stepped up a notch in the last month or two, and will continue to do so. A good run today was reward for recent consistency.)
Miranda Leeden – TBC
10km
Tim Bryant – 35:36min (A great comeback from injury. Just watch Tim fly over the coming months.)
Peter Angelini – 43:30min PB (Good running and also showing the benefits of consistency.)

Special thanks also to Danni, Shaun, Joel, Georgie & Wes for your support out on course…it makes a big difference to the runners in lots of ways.
Well done to everyone – it was fantastic seeing you all run so well!!
